LOCATION: Jordan, New York

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

JOB PURPOSE: The Production Supervisor provides guidance and direction by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.


  • Conduct daily meetings with all personnel focusing on safety, quality, delivery, cost/productivity and inventory
  • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
  • Oversee and coach employees
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
  • Check production output according to specifications
  • Submit reports on performance and progress
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
  • Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • Ensure strict safety guidelines and company standards
  • Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully perform jobs
  • Any other duties that may be assigned


  • Daily communication with Plant Manager to ensure objectives are met.

  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role in manufacturing
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
  • Ability to manage time sensitive tasks, strong time management skill
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Organizational and leadership abilities
  • Must be self-motivated and self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent work record, including safety, quality and attendance
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude, energy and enthusiasm with professional business-like appearance
  • High School Diploma; Degree in technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage
