“My career in the Wire Industry began with Hudson International in 1989. I worked as a mechanic on second shift, while attending Spartanburg Technical College. It was then I began to learn the wire manufacturing process.
In 1994 I accepted a second shift Lead Position in the maintenance department. For the next three years prioritizing work orders and trouble-shooting equipment issues alongside the maintenance group made-up the majority of my responsibilities. Accepting the Lead Position for the Inman Overhaul and Repair Team in 1997 was the next step in my wire career. This new role was exciting for me as I was able to work with engineers and contractors to upgrade and rebuild various machines. It was also during this time when cellular manufacturing was set-up.
My wire experience continued to expand further in 2001, when I accepted the Maintenance Group Leader Position, working with the entire maintenance workforce. I had the opportunity to assist in the implementation of the CMMS system MP2, used to manage all tasks and the spare parts inventory within maintenance. It was also during this time machinery from other plants were relocated and installed in Inman, along with new wire manufacturing equipment.
In early 2015, I was offered a new challenge as Maintenance Supervisor, which I accepted without hesitation. I continued to expand my experience and responsibilities in this position. I have had the opportunity to work with good people at Inman High Performance Conductors plant and other locations. I am thankful for all the opportunities over the last 32 years HPC has offered me and my family.”
