SUCCESS STORY

“In March of 1978, fresh out of high school, I began my wire career as a Rod Operator with Laribee Wire located in Jordan, NY.  After running rod machines for over a year I bid on an opening for a Die & Lubricant Technician position.  As a tech I learned a great deal about drawing wire so when a Supervisor position opened up I jumped at the chance to advance.  I worked my way up from Supervisor to Lead Supervisor until 1991 when Omega (International Wire) merged.  International Wire opened up a host of opportunities for me.  I worked as a Supervisor, Plant Superintendent, Quality Manager, Process Engineer, Continuous Improvement Manager and Plant Manager.  I have had the opportunity to either work in or manage just about every Bare Wire Division plant as well as the HPC Division.

Being in the Wire Industry has allowed me to work with great co-workers, customers and suppliers alike.  I am very thankful to International Wire for allowing me the opportunities that I have been given and for allowing me to mentor others that have become part of our wire family.  I was once told by an old boss that a company is only as good as its customers and employees, at IW we have the best of both.  As I get closer to the end of my career and reflect back, I ask myself if I would change anything, the answer is nothing.  I would not change one thing in my career path here.  It has been an incredible journey with incredible people and when I finish my career here I can say it was a life well lived.”
